TOURS Sample - Overview
Experience a Belizean
watershed system,
from its birthplace in
mountainous rainforest regions, which shed
streams through rivers and caves, down to magnificent
mangrove forests before reaching the Caribbean
Sea. Do it by hiking, biking and Kayaking .
Camp out under the stars or in the villages
and farmhouses we pass through. We rest a
day (or two) at a small fishing village in the
middle of a coastal lagoon that is actually
an estuary teaming with manatees.

| Then we launch out on a
2-4 day Sailing trip on a fishing boat out
to Belize's Barrier Reef for the snorkeling experience
of a lifetime. |

Sample Itinerary
Day 1 |
St Margaret Village
Arrival at Belize Internat'l Airport -Overland
Transportation 2 hours west to St. Margaret
Village. Overnight as guests in
a Belizean
home. |
Days
2-3 |
2 - 3 Days of
Jungle Hiking
Depart St. Margaret on foot on a two (to four) day
hike through Five Blues National Park to the Sibun
River. Sleep in tents, at farmhouses en route,
and finally on the bank of the Sibun River. Learn
about the jungle and its connections to rivers
and reef. |

4-6 |
2 - 4 Day River Paddle
Paddle the Sibun. Sleep in tents pitched on sand
bars or - where convenient - near riverside farmhouses.
Get to know the freshwater fishes of Belize and
the riparian wildlife and vegetation. Get to know
the culture of people who live without roads. |
Days
7-8 |
1 Day of Biking
Bike on dirt roads through savannah
to the coastal village of Gales Point. |
Days
9-10 |
Gales Point Manatee Village
Rest in the unique culture of a Creole village whose
livelihood depends on the sea. Visit
protected manatees, explore the surrounding mangrove
forests, and listen
to
local Samba drumming, with it's African roots. |
Days 11-13 |
Sail the Caribbean and Snorkel the
Reef
Depart Gales Point in a 32-foot sailboat
on a three-day island-hopping spree.
Sail 3-5 hours a day, snorkel mornings
and evenings as the opportunities arise,
and camp out on deserted, uninhabited
cayes. |
Day 14 |
Return to Belize City
Return on a one-hour speed boat ride
to Belize City, and then to Belize Internat'l Airport
and home or onward destination - Program ends. |
