Defining Personalized Travel to Belize since 1988

Enter an exciting realm where rivers disappear into the underworld as you float on inner tubes with only your headlamp to lead the way ...

Cave Tubing

cave waterfallThe Caves Branch cave system is the most popular and frequented cave in Belize. Glide past entrances from above, filtering mists of jungle light, as you float through underground river caves sparkling with mica-studded stalactites and stalagmites; continue past an underground waterfall leading into the "Crystal Cathedral", a spiritual place used by the ancient Maya. Guided exploration is by rubber inner tube. To get to the different cave entry points you hike upstream along the Caves Branch River with your inner tube in hand.

A walk to the third cave entrance takes about 30 minutes and you're back where you started in 2 hours. If you're coming from the San Ignacio/Cayo District area and heading to the Belize International Airport, there's time for the 3 cave / 2 hour excursion.

cave tubingA hike upstream to the 5th cave entrance involves some underground hiking and climbing inside the cave and some fitness is required. Hiking time takes 1.5 hours with total trip time at 3.5 hours. This is an exhilarating way to end your inland exploration if you are coming from or heading to Caye Caulker or Ambergris Caye from Cayo.

Degree of Difficulty - Moderately Challenging - Ability to maneuver an inner tube required. Shorts and T-shirts are suggested, along with comfortable shoes you can hike in and get wet. Because you will be getting wet, it’s a good idea to bring along extra clothes.

Entrance Fee - US$ 5 per person
